Architektura is a design studio focusing on architecture and interior projects. We design enriching spaces, while placing people at the forefront

Evocative, warm, homely, timeless - words that are aspirational in a residential design context and some of the many we strive to achieve in everything we do. Our homes impact our lives more than most realise, and we see our role as making a small, positive, long lasting impact on not only our clients, but our communities.

We don’t simply see buildings as isolated entities, but also as residents of the immediate locale, street, neighbourhood and city at large. They should sit respectfully in the community, be sustainable and complement their surroundings. Places that are a pleasure to reside in, of engaging moments and where memories are made. Home.

BIO

Architektura, at its core, means ‘to create’ and is reflective of our ethos and the European roots of our team.

We are a collection of architects and  interior designers attuned to space, texture and form and uniquely, a team of project delivery professionals attuned to ‘making it happen’. This melding of minds and approach ensures we craft beautiful conceptual ideas, but critically understand the technical, structural, personal and practical factors of making those ideas a reality.

Led by Aiste and Darren, our Melbourne-based studio emphasises design as a process, deep collaboration and acknowledges the personal nature of the residential projects we focus on. We work closely with our clients to deeply understand their needs, craft elevated solutions then leverage our relationships with builders, suppliers and artisans to execute.

Supported by a small but dedicated team committed to their craft, our work seeks a dialogue between space, form and light, of detail and craftsmanship, of enduring design and above all else, of home.

Our Ethos

Many memoirs begin with a house. A place of stories, memory, and meaning — a setting for family, belonging, and sanctuary. We believe great design quietly shapes the way we live, often more profoundly than we realise. For us, the home is one of the most honest and expressive forms of architecture — and the heart of our studio’s work.

We’re drawn to spaces that are clear, robust, and refined — where restraint meets poetry. We value simplicity not as an absence, but as a thoughtful presence: spaces that surprise, bring joy, and above all, feel like home. We pursue strong conceptual ideas, but pair them with a deep commitment to technical precision and buildability.

Our work is driven by process and purpose, not by trends or form for its own sake. Every project is a response — to place, brief, and context — and if there’s a style, it’s shaped by those specifics rather than a fixed aesthetic.

We design at the scale of the human experience, with every project viewed as part of a larger community, neighbourhood, and city. Context is critical; so is a sensitive response to site. Materials, proportions, and details are considered with care, reflecting both place and client.

And finally, if we’re in, we’re all in. We stay closely involved from first conversation to final key handover. We believe design is holistic, with our work spanning Architecture, Interiors and Landscape right through to furniture selection in some cases. We’re here to see thoughtful, beautiful homes not just imagined, but built.
